Responsibilities:
- Bring the gospel to the
community and community to our Church
- Handle publicity for the
church.
- Plan outreach events
- Leads evangelism efforts:
- Assist the pastor in
making evangelism calls
- Assist the pastor in
enlisting prospective members for adult catecheses classes.
- Plan new member
orientations with the congregational president to introduce them to the
church council and their opportunities for service in the congregation.
- Provides bread for
first-time visitors to the church.
- Coordinates a missions
committee and promotes Lutheran world missions.
- Assimilates prospective
members into the life of the congregation.
- Succeeds himself/herself
in office as long as duly elected
Messiah Website:
Communication
through the use of the Internet is our foundational communication site for our
members, our community, and those individuals from afar who are interested in
who we are and what we believe. The new site was dedicated in December 2007. We
believe our new website will:
- enable us to present the
Gospel in a real and virtual community,
- deliver remote ministering
to shut-ins and the general public
- reach more people
- Lower our costs for
communicating to our members and potential ones.
Special Projects:
- Christmas care packages for our Armed forces
- Thanksgiving baskets delivered to clients at Valley Crisis Pregnancy Center
- Christmas gifts to Matthew House residents
- Valentine care packages for the college age youth of Messiah
- Future Church Workers - Sons and daughters of Messiah members
